Ben Campbell is an exceptionally talented MIT student from a working-class family who hopes to study medicine at Harvard, but the $300,000 tuition is far beyond his means. After Ben impresses math professor Micky Rosa, he is invited to join a secret group of students trained to count cards at blackjack. The scheme takes them to casinos, where Ben sees a chance to earn the money needed for his future, though the group must keep their method hidden while gambling for high stakes.
