Юний геніальний піаніст Косей Аріма виграв безліч дитячих конкурсів і прославився в колі музикантів. Після смерті матері, яка була його вчителем, Косей не витримує і зривається посеред чергового конкурсу. Він звинувачує себе у сварці з матір'ю, що сталася незадовго до її смерті. З тих пір, граючи на піаніно, Косей не здатний чути свою гру і кидає грати у віці 11 років. Не володіючи іншими талантами він стає простим школярем, проживаючи звичайну шкільне життя з друзями - Цубакі і Ватарі. Але одного разу Цубакі знайомить його з Каорі Міядзоно, красивою і свавільної скрипалькою, яка допомагає Косею повернутися в світ музики, переконавши стати її акомпаніатором.
