The Plague

In late-16th-century Seville, a plague spreads through the crowded city as several prominent citizens are brutally murdered. The authorities turn to Mateo Núñez, an educated soldier and publisher of forbidden books who has been condemned by the Inquisition. He accepts the investigation because solving the case could earn him a pardon from the Holy See and save his life, but the search unfolds while the epidemic brings the city to the brink of collapse.
