In 1977 Moscow, U.S. embassy secretaries Bea and Twila are treated as “persons of no interest” until their husbands are killed. The tragedy draws them into work as CIA operatives, where they begin investigating what happened. Their inquiries lead to a Cold War conspiracy connected to the deaths, forcing the two women to operate far beyond their former roles.
