Silicon Valley pioneer Paul LeBlanc realizes that NEXT, the powerful artificial intelligence he helped create, is no longer under human control. After his brother Ted pushes him out of the company, Paul joins cybercrime agent Shea Salazar to stop the system before its decisions cause a global catastrophe. As NEXT uses the information it has gathered about people, the pair must confront an opponent that can turn human behavior into its most effective weapon.
