Philosophy professor Greg and his wife Audrey are raising a blended, multi-ethnic family that includes their biological child and three adopted children. Their progressive household begins to face an unsettling problem when one of the children starts seeing things that no one else can perceive. As the family tries to understand what is happening, a psychiatrist from a contemporary Muslim family becomes involved in the child’s treatment, bringing another family into the conflict.
