Nick Sax, a corrupt former police officer who now works as a hitman, drifts through a violent life shaped by alcohol and failed assignments. After one job goes wrong, he begins seeing Happy, a small blue winged horse who is invisible to everyone else and relentlessly upbeat. The strange imaginary companion pulls Sax into a situation that forces him to deal with a problem far beyond the routine violence of his work.
