Water for Elephants
During the Great Depression, veterinary student Jacob Jankowski loses his parents and leaves his studies behind. He joins the Benzini Brothers circus, where he becomes responsible for the animals and works with an elephant. Jacob also grows close to Marlena Rosenbluth, the circus’s married star performer, placing him in conflict with her husband August, a charismatic but cruel animal trainer who runs the show.
