Three Thousand Years of Longing
During a trip to Istanbul, Alithea, a solitary scholar, comes across an ancient bottle and releases a djinn. He offers to grant her three wishes in exchange for his freedom, but Alithea is reluctant and cannot decide what to ask for. To help her find a wish, the djinn recounts stories from his long existence, turning their conversation toward desire, choice and the consequences attached to both.
