Dr. Robert Ledgard, a brilliant plastic surgeon in Madrid, develops a synthetic skin that can withstand almost any damage. In the isolated clinic where he conducts his research, Vera Cruz becomes the subject of his most secretive experiments, though her connection to the doctor is far more personal than it first appears. As Ledgard continues his work, his obsession is linked to the old trauma caused by the man who assaulted his daughter.
