The Shining
Writer Jack Torrance takes a winter caretaker position at the remote Overlook Hotel and moves there with his wife Wendy and their young son Danny. Cut off by heavy snow, the family soon faces signs that the building holds more than empty rooms: the hotel is rumored to be haunted, and its previous caretakers reportedly killed their families before taking their own lives. Danny’s rare psychic gift makes him especially sensitive to the hotel’s hidden presence, while Jack struggles with the isolation surrounding them.
