The Proposal
New York book editor Margaret Tate faces deportation when her visa status comes under threat, putting her career and life in the United States at risk. To avoid leaving the country, she pressures her assistant, Andrew Paxton, into entering a fake marriage with her. Andrew agrees to the arrangement, but the sudden legal partnership gives him unexpected leverage over his demanding boss as they try to present the marriage as genuine.
