The Host
In a future where parasitic alien Souls have taken over most human bodies, Melanie Stryder is captured and given a new occupant. The Soul, who calls herself Wanda, expects to control Melanie completely, but Melanie remains conscious and resists from within. Their uneasy coexistence gradually changes Wanda’s view of the humans hiding from the occupation, while the Seeker pursues them and Melanie tries to protect her younger brother and the remaining free people.
