The Frighteners

Former architect Frank Bannister makes a living in a small town by posing as an exorcist and removing ghosts from homes. His supposed gift began after a car accident that killed his wife, though the haunting is often part of his own scheme. When several local residents die under mysterious circumstances, Frank uses his ability to investigate the killings and uncovers a supernatural threat, while also growing close to Lucy Lynskey, the widow of one of the victims. A volatile FBI agent further complicates the case.
