OtherLife

Ren Amari is an ambitious inventor developing OtherLife, a drug that alters the brain’s sense of time and projects virtual experiences directly into the mind. A few real seconds can feel like hours or even a year, making the technology useful for far more than entertainment. As Ren and her colleagues prepare to launch it, the government proposes using OtherLife to ease prison overcrowding by placing inmates in virtual cells where they would experience long sentences in minutes. Ren objects to this plan, but soon becomes trapped inside the system herself and must find a way out before losing control of the invention.
