High school senior Vee Delmonico usually stays out of the spotlight, but pressure from her friends leads her to join Nerve, an online game built around dares. What begins with a single challenge changes when she is paired with Ian, a stranger whose identity she does not know, and the game’s anonymous viewers demand increasingly dangerous acts. As the tasks spread through New York City and become harder to refuse, Vee must find a way to take back control before the competition decides what she does next.
