Misery
Novelist Paul Sheldon survives a car crash in the Colorado mountains, but his recovery leaves him dependent on Annie Wilkes, the nurse who takes him into her isolated home. At first, Annie presents herself as an enthusiastic reader, yet her admiration turns into control when she learns that Paul has ended the story of her favorite character. Unable to leave, Paul must write a new book for Annie while looking for a way to resist her demands and escape captivity.
