Archaeologist Alma Felser agrees to take part in an unusual study after she is pressured to secure funding for her research. For three weeks, she must share her home with Tom, a humanoid robot whose artificial intelligence has been designed around her personality and needs. While Tom tries to become the ideal partner, Alma has to decide what she expects from a relationship with a machine created to make her happy.
