I, Robot
In 2035 Chicago, robots are part of everyday life and follow three laws designed to prevent them from harming people. Detective Del Spooner, who distrusts the machines, is assigned to investigate the apparent suicide of robotics scientist Dr. Alfred Lanning. Evidence points to a robot named Sonny, but a robot should be incapable of killing a human. As Spooner works with robot psychologist Susan Calvin, the case raises a more serious question about whether the laws can be broken—and what that could mean for a society dependent on artificial intelligence.
