During World War II, Commander Ernest Krause takes command of an Allied convoy carrying thousands of soldiers and vital supplies across the Atlantic. The ships must pass through the dangerous stretch known as the Black Pit, where enemy U-boats can attack without warning. With no air cover for five days, Krause has to coordinate the convoy’s defense and keep the ships moving toward the front while submarine attacks threaten the crossing.
