After an alien invasion devastates much of Earth, Will lives with other survivors in the Rocky Mountains, where the giant insect-like creatures cannot survive above 8,000 feet. When someone in their community needs life-saving supplies, Will joins Nina and Katie on a descent into the dangerous lowlands. Their search leads them toward an abandoned mine and forces them to face the monsters outside the mountains’ protection.
