The commercial starship Nostromo is on its way back to Earth when its crew receives a distress signal from an unknown planet. They land to investigate and discover a chamber filled with strange eggs, but one of the creatures inside attacks John Hurt’s character, Kane. After the crew brings him back aboard, an alien presence begins threatening everyone on the ship, forcing Ripley and the others to search for a way to survive in the confined vessel.
