Thirteen-year-old Anne Boonchuy is suddenly sent to Amphibia, a rural marshland inhabited by frog-people, after a magical chest transports her there. Far from home and unfamiliar with this strange world, Anne must learn how to live among its giant insects and other dangers. Young frog Sprig Plantar takes her in and helps her adjust, while their adventures gradually lead Anne toward a genuine friendship.
